Pick-up

In shortPick-up is the net number of bookings added for a given stay date between two measurement points (for example, yesterday to today): new bookings minus cancellations.

Pick-up shows how fast a future night is filling. Tracked daily for the same night, it reveals early when demand is speeding up or slowing down.

It can also be measured in room nights, revenue or ADR. Negative pick-up means cancellations outnumbered new bookings in that period.

Formula

Pick-up = Bookings now − Bookings at previous snapshot = New bookings − Cancellations

Example

Yesterday there were 42 rooms on the books for 15 November; today 6 new bookings and 1 cancellation arrived, making 47: pick-up = +5 rooms.

In Optima Radar

Optima Pulse shows your pick-up from yesterday to today, with new bookings and cancellations, from your PMS reservation emails.
