Stop sale
In shortA stop sale is a hotel temporarily closing sales for specific dates, room types or channels; no new bookings are accepted on that channel for those dates.
Stop sales are typically used when the hotel is full, when there is an overbooking risk, to protect group blocks or to limit sales from one channel. Through the channel manager they can apply to one channel or all of them.
In competitor tracking, a hotel showing no rate at all for a night often means it is full or closed for that night, which says something about demand in the area.
In Optima Radar
In Radar, a competitor not shown as available on Booking.com for a night is flagged, and the area occupancy estimate uses this signal.
